thoughts about the game

Hello! Yes, I’m still alive. I haven’t been eaten by my pets, accidentally merged into a piece of amber, or lost in the summoning shrine forever. I’ve just been taking a long break from the game. But I’m back—for now.

First off, this really is a good game. I enjoy playing it, and I love that there have been new updates recently. It’s honestly refreshing—most Alexa games either vanish into thin air or get abandoned like a cursed sword nobody wants to touch. So seeing new content, new features like Auto Battle, and general improvements is great.

Buuuut… it’s also kind of confusing. And by “kind of,” I mean I feel like I need a whiteboard, three spreadsheets, and possibly a small council to figure out what I’m doing.

I made the classic mistake: I incubated a whole petting zoo instead of just focusing on one or two pets. Now I’ve got about 18 fuzzy freeloaders asking to be trained, and no time to actually do it. Some are doing millions of damage, others are just… gently tickling the enemies. I wish I’d known at the start to just stick with a couple.

When I go into the arena or do battles, I feel like I’m doing a lot but getting very little back. Maybe that’s because I’ve spread myself too thin. Or maybe because I still don’t know what half my inventory even does. I think I cracked open some amber last week and accidentally summoned someone’s grandma.

I’ve dabbled in bounty contracts and occasionally remember the summoning shrine exists, but I’m mostly just winging it and hoping for the best. I haven’t forged a single piece of equipment—I don’t even know how to. I feel like there are so many different items and systems now, it’s like the game grew ten extra arms while I was gone.

Something that would be really helpful? A way to ask open questions in-game. Like:
– What pet should I focus on?
– Should I go to the farm now or later?
– Is this item rare or just sparkly and useless?
– Why does my strongest pet look like a loaf of bread?

Basically, something that lets you get quick guidance without needing to ask in forums or wait around for an answer.

If adventure mode is still on the horizon, I’m genuinely excited for it. This game needs a storyline—something to tie everything together and give me a reason to keep training Sir Fluffypaws the Third. I’d also love a better way to manage pets and see which ones are worth investing time in. I need a “yes, train this one” button and a “this one’s just here for emotional support” tag.

Anyway, despite all my confusion, I still think this game has huge potential. It just needs a bit of polish and maybe a user manual written by someone who doesn’t assume I already know what “Arcane Banana Essence” is for. With some tweaks, it could really shine.

Thanks for reading—off to see if one of my pets can finally win a fight without fainting from mild disappointment.

I'm glad you're enjoying the game. Yes, the game has quite a lot to it, but at the same time, it will need much much more before it's "done." There are a lot of archetypes that don't have enough to build out a good team. For example, you can build a good team around the bleeding status effect, but not around burning. Adding more pets, equipment, food, etc. will help with that. I agree that it's overwhelming for new players to figure it all out. I think the commands you suggested are a good idea. It would be really cool to have the commands ask questions to figure out what kind of pets that player enjoys playing an suggest pets, equipment and items that would help the player figure out what they need to do.

I've played around with adventure mode and navigating with cardinal directions quite a bit and can't get really figure out how to make it fun for voice users. Exploring large areas with voice becomes tedious very quickly. I wanted to make it work so badly, but I think most users will not like it. When I first made the endless forest, you had to use cardinal directions to navigate the forest, and the people that helped me test it did not like playing it for long due to how tedious it got with navigation. That's why you can just say "yes" over and over now to get through it. It's still very tedious, but it's much easier than figuring out which direction to go over and over. The new idea is to make a lot of new areas similar to how Void Nightmares work; randomly generated areas with choices and story events and a boss at the end of the area. The endless forest will also be like that in a future update. There will be new towns and other areas that you will be able to get to by going through a story and unlocking them. After unlocking them, you will be able to get to them at the portal shrine. For example, in the first town, there will be a quest to defeat an enemy in the sewer that's causing problems in the town. You will be able to go to the sewer from the portal shrine and open a portal to the sewer as many times as you want. A new sewer will be generated each time you enter, much like Void Nightmares.

Me personally I would like to adventure mode using the cardinal directions because there are a few other games they use them that I play and maybe there could be a special awards that you can’t get in the main game that you can get in adventure mode so people have I also have a suggestion there should be a game mode where you have pets and need to fight against waves of enemies and never for each wave your pets get a certain buff, but the enemies become stronger that would also be kind of cool
