Brand of Duke increases damage against taunted targets. Duke's second skill, Feather Fortress, decreases enemies skill damage multiplier if they're taunted. That doesn't count as mitigated damage.

The final damage hasn't been calculated at that point, so there isn't an easy way to make it count as mitigated damage. When a skill/trait/effect says increases/decreases skill damage multiplier, it changes the percentage multiplier of the attribute for the skill. So if the skill says "extreme damage and based on intelligence," the multiplier is 500% and the base damage will be the pet's intelligence * 5. Feather Fortress decreases that 500% down to 350% at mastery level 10. After the base damage is calculated, then increased damage, crit damage, etc. are calculated to get the final damage. After that, the mitigation is calculated from defense, resistance and resilience.
