A Couple Questions

Posted by Rmjeeves on June 8, 2025

I have not been playing for a few months and the new equipment updates and some other things are here now! I have two questions though.
1. Is Dragon Eye just not working or does the ambidextrous trait just not come very often anymore? I have dragon eye equipped my Female Grotesque, but it never seems to be ambidextrous. Like a couple months ago it used to say, (Pet name) is ambidextrous and then use the skill in slot 2 a couple times and then the skill in slot 1 but now it just does not say that. I have tried using skills over and over but it just doesn't seem to activate.
2. This isn't really a question, but I'm just wondering is Kraken's skill one, Maelstrom is supposed to be so under powering compared to its other skill, Under the Depths. Under the Depths does like 7 times more damage and it also helps with the From the Shadows trait, because of blindness. Also it has no cooldown, so I'm just wondering if it's supposed to be like that or am I just not understanding what Maelstrom is capable of.
Loving the other updates.

As for dragon eye, it only has a 75% chance of going off now.

Yes, I have not even spent all the whetstones I wanted on it yet, but it's not doing it at all, like not even once. Also, is there something now like, the opponent pet has to be alive after the initial attack in order for ambidextrous to even occur? Maybe that could be my problem then but that's still very odd.

Also, I see it says each additional trigger and skills with a cooldown have a reduced chance. How much reduction is it talking about because yes, Swallow Hole is a skill that usually requires cooldown. I don't think it's like a 1/infinity reduction though.

Also all your equipment have their whetstones removed

Skills with a cooldown reduce the chance for equipment to trigger that skill. If a skill has a cooldown of 2 turns, the chance is divided by 2. If it's 6 turns, the chance is divided by 6.

Skills with cooldowns deal a lot more damage than skills without cooldowns. The damage multiplier for most cooldown skills is the cooldown itself. So if the cooldown is 3 turns, it will deal 3 times more damage than a skill without a cooldown.

I've been trying to remove the global trigger limit. I get quite a few messages asking why something isn't working, and a lot of the time it's the global trigger limit. Once 20 things trigger on a single turn, everything for that team stops triggering. The global trigger limit was added because there are many things that can cause infinite loops, such as Shimmer's Mirror Armor skill(before the 50% nerf) when two Shimmers fought each other. The status effects would just mirror off of each other over and over and eat up all of the triggers for that turn. In the next update, Mirror Armor will go back to 100%, but each time it's triggered, the chance is reduced by 25% with a minimum of 25% chance. Many other skills have will have similar changes in the next update so that I can remove the trigger limit.

In the last update, equipment was changed to work in a similar way. Each time something is triggered, the chance for it to trigger again is reduced.

I'm really hoping that these changes will make the game more intuitive. It's very hard, even for me, to figure out why things stop working due to the trigger limit. The order of your brands and skills shouldn't matter much in terms of things interacting with each other, and right now it does due to the global trigger limit. For example, your 2nd or 3rd brand might have no effect at all due to the first brand consuming all of the triggers for that turn.

Summons are the only thing left to figure out. Since the trigger limit has basically been moved from the team to each pet's skills and equipment, some teams that summon a lot of pets and trigger their skills can be extremely over powered.
