Does ember of increased damage affect status effects and other stacks of the same status effect applied by other pets?

No it doesn't, it just affects how much damage your pets do.

On your question from another post about the forest, the checkpoints in the forest will indeed save your progress if you leave the forest. you can also use a bonfire to create a checkpoint any time you want

Sometimes bonfires are sold at the auction house.
I can sell a few of mine if you like, I will put them up there now.
I've also noticed you can collect bonfires from some of the bosses in the endless forest too. But that's okay, I can still sell some bonfires. collecting items is automatic, by the way. You don't have to do anything to get the items, you just go towards them and pick them up, and that includes automatically picking up items from the bosses at the forest checkpoints.

@PetLady do they increase status effect damage if your pet applies them?

@sigma I don't believe so. it's the brands that causes status effect changes. whenever I've used the embers of increased damage, it just increases how much damage the pets do without changing any other status effect.

No, currently status effects don’t track which pet applied how many stacks, so there’s no easy way to figure out which pet should have its damage modifiers added to it. It is on my list of things to fix.
